My background

I grew up in a union home and I still have family members who are proud union workers. I understand the long days, the hard work, the dedication, and the deep pride that comes from doing a job right.  That strong work ethic is something we share. I love our Porter County community and stay actively involved in it. You’ll often find me volunteering my time with local nonprofits, including Kiwanis and the Porter County Parks Foundation Board. As a longtime county employee, I understand what it truly means to be a public servant — and I take that responsibility seriously.   

I’ve spent 30 years working inside the Clerk’s Office, and during that time I’ve had the opportunity to work in every department—criminal, civil, small claims, traffic, child support, bookkeeping, and elections. Today I serve as the Chief Finance Deputy Clerk, helping oversee the finances and operations that keep the office running smoothly.

  My focus as Clerk is simple: keep the office active, accountable, and transparent. Our office handles taxpayer dollars and undergoes multiple audits each year, so strong safeguards, accuracy, and financial controls will always be a priority.

Transparency is also critical. Monthly Election Board meetings will continue so the public can see the work being done. We will keep expanding our elections website so the community can stay informed and engaged.

Training and communication are the foundation of a strong Clerk’s Office. By cross-training our staff, we ensure the team can deliver excellent service to every resident of Porter County — even during busy election seasons or unexpected absences. We will also continue investing in high-quality training for our election workers so they feel confident, prepared, and well-supported. We’ve already made significant progress: expanding early voting options, introducing vote centers so you can vote at any location in the county, and launching the Vote Mobile to make voting more convenient for people with busy schedules.
